Text: 2 Chronicles 18:1-4; 28-34

Memory Verse: “Now a certain man drew a bow at random, and struck the king of Israel between the joints of his armour. So he said to the driver of his chariot, ‘Turn around and take me out of the battle, for I am wounded’”
(2 Chronicles 18:33).

Ahab heard the words of Prophet Micaiah and though he did not serve his God, devised a way to prevent it from happening. He disguised himself in the battlefield to escape being targeted by the enemy. How striking that God’s word still came to pass through a random nameless man! God revealed His plans to Joseph early in life, but no one believed him. Satan, using his jealous brothers, even tried to thwart the plans saying, “We shall see what will become of his dreams!” (Genesis 37:17b). Unknown to them, “the foolishness of God is wiser than men” (1 Corinthians 1:25). God used them to lead Joseph to Egypt where he became the Prime Minister and they finally bowed to him in fulfilment of God’s word.

Goliath, the Philistine giant, was well fortified and dared to defy the God of Israel. Though everyone, including King Saul, cringed in fear, David, a young teenager, depending on his knowledge of God, took him on with only a sling
and five smooth stones as weapons. How come David’s stone found the only unprotected space in Goliath’s body? The dreaded boastful giant fell flat to the surprise of all (1 Samuel 17:26-52). God had done it again.

Your God is the Almighty One whose word does not fail or change. He is dependable and can fight for Himself. He can fight for you. Trust His Word regardless of the situation. He knows how to bring His plans to pass.

Prayer Points:
1. I praise You, Lord, for how You have proved Yourself in my life.
2. Lord, help me to trust You more.
