Text: Isaiah 54:1-8
Memory Verse: “Do not fear, for you will not be ashamed; Neither be disgraced, for you will not be put to shame; for you will forget the shame of your youth, And will not remember the reproach of your widowhood anymore” (Isaiah 54:4).
Oftentimes, we worry so much that we go to great lengths in getting things we desire such as wealth, security, career, relationship and more. However, achieving these things is not our making, but God’s. He has reserved covenants of all round peace for us (Numbers 25:12). Some of these covenants include expansion to both left and right, inheritance of nations, great mercies and everlasting kindness (Isaiah 54:3,7&8).
An example is the covenant of peace that may be claimed in faith by the children of God as present protection from the ravages of the enemy. “For the mountains shall depart, And the hills be removed, But my kindness shall not depart from you, Nor shall my covenant of peace be removed,” Says the Lord who has mercy on you” (Isaiah 54:10). As with all of God’s covenants, the faith exercised by the recipient affects the implementation of the covenant, i.e., “according to your faith, let it be to you” (Matthew 9:29). God has activated the covenant, but we must fulfil the
condition of faith to receive the benefits of His peace.
There is certainty that we will live a life of peace; but, the extent of that peace is limited only by our faith. We must be able to confess like Solomon that God has blessed us with His peace, i.e., “the Lord my God hath given me rest on
every side” … (1 King 5:4a).
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, let me continue to enjoy your peace all round.
2. Father, let your covenant of peace be permanent in my life.
