2 Timothy 3: 1-5, 13&14
Memory Verse:
“But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them” (2 Timothy 3:14).
The world is gradually coming to an end and the devil is enlisting armies for his kingdom. 2 Timothy 3 is an eye opener for all serious minded Christians to be on guard, because we are in perilous times when people’s faith and love for the things of God is waxing cold while the love of evil, unrighteousness and unholy living is increasing, even in the church. In times like these, we need to go back to our first love and hold more tightly to Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith.
For there to be a wake-up call, there must have been some slumbering and sleeping. As soldiers of the Lord, sleeping at a time like this is dangerous because the enemy of your soul is on the prowl seeking whom to devour (1 Peter 5:8). As you stand and live right, those watching you will realise that Christians are indeed the light of the world. Be encouraged by the lives of Bible heroes like Daniel and Paul, who endured a lot of temptations and persecutions (2 Timothy 3:6-12). They chose to live for God in very difficult circumstances. If they succeeded, so can you.
God is counting on you to make a desired change in your locality through
witnessing and lifestyle evangelism. “Let your light so shine before men, that
they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew
5:16).
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, help me to wake up from my slumber.
2. Lord, I shall be a shining light, so I can draw people into Your kingdom.
