Text:
Matthew 25:1-10
Memory Verse:
“And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut” (Matthew 25:10).
Factually, all prophecies concerning the Second Coming of Christ have been fulfilled. The expectations of His coming are higher than ever before. Even though it is not given to us to know the season and time, it will, however, be sad for any Christian to be taken unaware. Are you ready for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ? This call is basically a call to shape up; to be ready is to get prepared.
When the call for readiness is mentioned, we remember the parable of the ten virgins. Jesus used this story to illustrate what it meant to be ready. For you to be acknowledged as being ready, you must first accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour. “Unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3b). Renew your mind by constantly reading the word of God and consciously be rooted in holy conduct and godliness (2 Peter 3 :11).
Jesus is warning us in this parable that there will be a number of people who look like Christians, associate with Christians, and even think they are Christians, but will be shocked to discover that they are not saved and are left behind at the return of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The urgency of this story cannot be taken lightly. The parable of the ten virgins is about preparation and readiness. If Jesus comes today, will you be ready? Are you watching and waiting for His return? If you are reading this message and you are not born again, please give your life to Christ today.
Prayer Points:
1. Father, I come to You today in total surrender, have mercy on me and cleanse me of my sins.
2. Lord Jesus, give me the grace to adequately prepare for Your coming.
