Mark 11:22-28
Memory Verse:
“And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses” (Mark 11:25).
It is very essential for us as believers to walk in love and be ready to forgive offenders. It brings about peace and helps us to stand strong in the Lord. How can one say he is a believer and he is filled with bitterness, envy, strive and unforgiveness? Some even make bold to say “I can never forgive him or her”. Just imagine that God decides not to forgive you, what will become of you? The problem is that you have not taken time to consider how much you were forgiven.
The word of God declares that in Christ “we have redemption through His blood. Even the forgiveness of sin” (Colossians 1:14). If we are glad that God forgave us, why are we refusing to forgive others? Why will you, for instance, refuse to forgive your parents? There will always be misunderstanding among brethren, just as Jesus had issues with His disciples. When there are issues, steps must be taken to reconcile our differences within the shortest possible time to avoid a lingering feud among brethren or others. What makes the difference is our relationship with Christ. Let Jesus be the centre of our reconciliation.
Unforgiveness is a spirit that works against progress. When you do not forgive, you hinder the move of God in your life, and inflict emotional pains and injury on yourself, while the person you refuse to forgive remains joyful and progresses to your disbelief. Child of God, life is too short to harbour bitterness and unforgiveness. Let go, and embrace the peace of God.
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, help me today to forgive everyone that has offended me.
2. Lord, have mercy on me and forgive my offences.
