Text: Jude 17-25

Memory verse: “But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit” (Jude 20).

We read different things on the internet daily, and many things that used to be abnormal, have gained much popularity as the new normal. An average teenager cannot seem to understand the fuss the older generation makes about morality and good behaviour. Almost every sense of reasoning is being attacked under the guise of freedom of expression. The devil is working overtime to draw people away from God.

Only one deeply rooted in God’s Word will overcome these last days. No matter how hard we try to be disciplined and principled, without God, we will fall short of attaining excellence. The Holy Spirit has been given as our helper.
We do not even need to wait for issues to arise before we tap into the help that has been made available to us through the Holy Spirit.

We are expected to allow the Holy Spirit to control every aspect of our lives. That is why Jude enjoins us to “… build yourselves up [founded] on your most holy faith [make progress, rise like an edifice higher and higher], praying in the Holy Spirit; Guard and keep yourselves in the love of God; expect and patiently wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) — [which will bring you] unto life eternal” (Jude 20-21AMP). We need to build ourselves and train our spirit to be totally reliant on Him. Beware of what you feed yourself on, because you are a product of what you feed your spirit on.

Prayer Points:
1. O Lord, preserve me from the corruption of this age.
2. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, I will prevail by His Spirit.
