Text:
Psalm 105:1-4
Memory Verse:
“Oh, give thanks to the LORD! Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples!”(Psalm 105:1).
Has anyone called your name in a place where you thought that no one Hcould recognise you? Such actions normally create incredible emotions. If the person calls you by a name known to very few
people, it is an indication that you relate with the person on a more personal level. God has consistently invited man to call on Him. “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know” (Jeremiah 33:3).
The knowledge of the names of God is relevant. For one thing, His names remind us of His characteristics. We may not be able to recount all His names here, but a few of them are worth considering:
1. The LORD, the Holy One, the Creator of Israel, your King.
2. The King of Israel, Redeemer, the LORD of hosts, the First and the Last.
3. Jehovah Rohi – my Shepherd.
4. Jehovah Tsidkenu – God our righteousness (Jeremiah 23:6).
5. Jehovah Rapha – God our Healer (Exodus 15:13-15).
What comes to your mind when you call these names? Some of the names are in your language too. We must depend upon Him and show this in the way we relate with Him in prayers.
Learn to praise Him and thank Him for all His blessings. We are encouraged to glory in His name; you must show that you are proud of calling His name.
Proclaim His greatness. We must also always remember that there is a name that is relevant to every situation we pass through in life: pick the name that fits the situation and use it.
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, reveal Your name that is most relevant to my situation to me.
2. Lord, I bless Your holy name.
