Desire To Know Him Better

Text:
Matthew 17:1-8

Memory Verse:
“and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light” (Matthew 17:2).

When Jesus Christ was on earth, men knew Him in many ways. Many knew Him as a multiplier of bread and fish, some as healer, some as a prophet, and some as a son of Joseph and Mary, among others. His disciples knew Him as Master, Saviour and Son of God, but none witnessed Him in His glory to understand better who He was until Jesus
unveiled this mystery to Peter, James and John on the Mount of Transfiguration.

The experience of Jesus Christ being transfigured in their presence, left Peter, James and John with unquenchable zeal to carry on the fulfilment of the Master’s will with boldness. Isaiah saw God in the temple and cried out for
revival, confessing his sins and gaining forgiveness from God. He rose up from prayer with renewed zeal for service. Paul had a life-changing encounter with Jesus on the way to Damascus (Acts 9: 3-5), and his desire changed forever.
King Nebuchadnezzar saw Him in the flaming fire, changed decision and confessed His Lordship (Daniel 3:24,25).
To know God is to see Him in His glory and person. God desires to reveal Himself to man this way, so that His fear may remain in him. Do you desire to see God in His glory?

All you need is to take a closer walk with Jesus Christ, who is the express image of God (Colossians 1:15). Spend more time in secret with Jesus alone; reading, meditating and obeying His word. Be prayerful with submission to the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Prayer Points:
1. Lord, open my eyes to know You like never before.
2. Lord, I want to walk with You. Help me!
