Do What You Have Never Done

Text:
Genesis 12:1-9

Memory Verse:
“Now the LORD had said to Abram: ‘Get out of your country, From your family and from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you’” (Genesis 12:1).

It is a common saying that if you want something you have never had, you have to do something you have never done. Walking with God is an act and journey of faith all the way to the end. Abraham had to leave his family
to a land he had never been, so he could possess what he had never had (Genesis 12:1&2). He arose in faith, moved in obedience and experienced the promised blessings.

Thousands of people will fail or are failing in life because they are unwilling to pay the price and go all the way with God. The refusal to change jobs, neighbourhood or friends, choosing rather to remain in their comfort zones,
even when the Lord is instructing them to, will make many fail and be limited.

If you want to fly, break away from people who are weighing you down. Change what needs to be changed in your life and attempt new things, especially when God is directing you to (Psalm 32:8). Like Abraham, leave your
comfort zone and do what you have never done before as inspired by the Holy Spirit.

If you allow fear and negative thoughts to dominate you, you will never overcome your problems and break new grounds. Everything may be difficult at first. Don’t be afraid of this initial difficulty. Believe that God will keep His
promises to you and will never fail you. “God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1). Be willing to change your lifestyle, based on His leadership.

Prayer Points:
1. Lord, help me obey Your instructions wholeheartedly, no matter how difficult they may be.
2. Father, grant me the courage to make the needed changes for my breakthrough.
