Text:
Exodus 3:11-18
Memory Verse:
“So He said, ‘I will certainly be with you. And this shall be a sign to you that I have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain’” (Exodus 3:12).
Moses did all he could to refuse the commission God gave him. He gave various excuses in Exodus 3:11-14: “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh?”; “When I come to the Israelites and say to them ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they say to me, ‘What is His name?’ How do I answer them?”; “No one will believe me. They will call me a liar.”; “Lord, I am a stammerer. I cannot speak clearly.”; “Lord, I cannot go. Send someone else.”
When you do not want to do something, you will have excuses. Have you listened to yourself lately? “I am busy. There is no time. I do not know anyone who can help me. I am a lady. I am poor. I am too young. I am not learned.” The list is endless. When you want to do something, there is always an attractive reason why. Perhaps Moses should have said, “Lord, I do not want to go.”
Remember that you are a very important and valuable person. God created you for Himself. You are His masterpiece (Ephesians 2:10, NLT). God will not assign you to do a thing that you have no ability to do. He will always supply you the means of grace to accomplish His purpose.
Do not allow the devil to deceive you. You can move any mountain by God’s grace. You can do everything that God has called you to do. He will give you your Aaron. Go forward boldly. Start the project and see God in action.
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, help me to believe You.
2. Lord, help me to be a willing tool in Your hands.
