Text:
Ephesians 4:20-29
Memory Verse:
“and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness” (Ephesians 4:24).
Change, they say, is constant; it is part of life. There are changes that bring about transformation while some lead to destruction. Change, in our context here, is taking off your former way of life, the old man that is corrupted and being renewed in the spirit of your minds by putting on the new man (2 Corinthians 5:17).This is the very heart of the Christian faith.
Sadly, there are so many believers, who claim Christ is their personal Lord and
Saviour, whose lifestyle shows little or no difference from the ungodly.
Surprisingly, this category of people routinelyget drunk, talk, engage in sexual
immorality, struggle with rage, get divorced at the same rate, and do business
like people in the world, without any positive change of heart. The Bible says
“Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has
righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?” (2 Corinthians 6:14).
When a believer begins to miss his previous lifestyle, it is an indication that
nothing has changed in him. Are you struggling to be free from habits and
sinful patterns that took root in your pre-Christian days? Jesus has given us
supernatural ability (Grace) to overcome sin. Let your experience with Jesus be real in your life. Be transformed by the renewing of your mind with the word of God so that you can prove God’s good, acceptable and perfect will
(Romans 12:2).
Prayer Points:
1. Father, let your transformation be real in my life.
2. Lord, give me the grace to live a regenerated life.
