1 John 4: 1-6
Memory Verse:
“You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world” (1 John 4: 4).
here was the story of a young lady who was kidnapped for ritual purposes. After seeing that the other two passengers in the car did not return after they were taken into the ritual hut, she began to pray in the Spirit. She went in this mode into the hut where she was threatened to stop ‘that language’, but she refused. Confusion soon set in, leading to the death of the chief ritualist. She was immediately returned to where she was taken from. Our God, from the beginning, had desired to be physically present with man whom He made in His image. Hence, He came in the evenings to keep Adam and Eve company. However, man, through the free will given to him, chose to listen to and follow Satan rather than obey God, thus cutting off his physical relationship with God (Genesis 3:8- 10).
God, in His mercy, redeemed man through Jesus and made it possible for the Holy Spirit to dwell in any one who believes in Him (Revelations 3:20). That is the overcoming power in every Christian today. Our God is the Almighty. The reality of God dwelling in man must have explained why Haman found it difficult, even at his level of human authority, to overcome Mordecai, a gateman. God, who resided in Mordecai, turned the table against Haman, in favour of Mordecai (Esther:1&q2). No matter the threat from the wicked, always reassure yourself that the One in
you is greater and can never be defeated.
Prayer Points:
1. Thank You, Lord, for Your Almighty power.
2. I receive the boldness to overcome all threats from today.
