Proverbs 11:23-31
Memory Verse:
“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise” (Proverbs 11:30).
One of the major mandates we have in Christ Jesus is to be fruitful in soul winning. The Bible is very specific on this matter: “he that winneth souls is wise.” It is foolish not to play an active role in soul winning. Be generous with the gospel; do not withhold the good news. Some facts from Proverbs 11:30
1. Only righteous people can be effective in soul winning. You cannot be an
active sinner and an effective soul winner at the same time.
2. Every Christian has the supernatural resource to be productive. That resource is the life of God in us (Romans 8:2-11).
3. Inability to win souls for God is evidence that something is wrong somewhere.
4. Active soul winning is a wise and correct lifestyle for a Christian.
In John 1:40-42, after Andrew met Jesus, he first found his brother Peter and
introduced him to the Messiah. Jesus also declared in John 9:4, ‘I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work.’ You must begin to actively win souls for Christ. To do this effectively,
1. Live right.
2. Pray for opportunities and, when they come, take advantage of them.
3. Be creative; don’t follow a script. Allow the Holy Spirit to help you.
4. Desire souls. You will never win one if you do not desire it.
5. Engage all your resources: money, time, prayers to win souls. Be an active intercessor for world evangelisation and support genuine evangelistic work anytime the opportunity comes.
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, I am sorry for not sharing the good news with others.
2. I receive grace, courage and boldness to declare the gospel of Christ.
