Text: Psalm 121:1-8
Memory Verse: “My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth”
(Psalm 121:2).
Every man needs assistance at some points in life. A man was unable to meet up with his rent. In fact, he had accumulated much debts and his landlord was fed up with his constant excuses. On the day that the landlord came to give him evictions notice, all pleas fell on deaf ears. He became very worried. He then remembered that he had a well-placed uncle in an oil firm. He decided to go to his uncle’s place, confident that he would receive help. There, he discovered that his uncle had been ill and was also
looking for money for a lifesaving surgical procedure. He was disappointed.
The Psalmist knew exactly where to turn for help. He said he would lift up his eyes unto the hills, knowing that that is where unfailing help comes from. Looking up to the hills is looking up to the Lord who made the heavens and the earth. As a child of God, you must learn to look up to the Lord for help; He is the maker of the heavens and earth. Do not put your trust or confidence in any man (Psalm 146:3), for man is limited and the arms of flesh can fail.
The maker of heaven and earth has all things in His hands. He can do all things; He is above all things and He sees all things. It is a beautiful thing when you receive help from the Lord. Look up to God today and ask for His help.
Prayer Points:
- O God, arise for my help.
- Father, may I receive help today and all the days of my life in Jesus’ name
