2 Corinthians 3:7-18
Memory Verse:
“But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord” (2 Corinthians 3:18). When God is in control of our lives He produces His fruit in our character. But if we allow Satan to be in control, he either
produces the direct opposite of God’s fruits in our character, or a compromise. Either of these alternatives is less than God’s best and prevents us from becoming what He wants us to be. Every believer is a new creation in Christ and the inner man has been born again by the Spirit of God. Therefore, he has a new capacity to develop a character which reflects the qualities of Jesus Christ. These qualities of life are the Christian traits that are listed in 2 Peter 1:3-8.
Our character is influenced by our Environment – home, parents, school, church, job, government and friends. The Holy Spirit is the Chief Agent – He can transform any Christian’s life into one that pleases God and the Word of God is the chief tool. John 8:31 says “if you abide in my word…” Unless we consistently look to the Word to guide our daily decisions and thought life, lasting character growth will never occur in us. 2 Corinthians 3:18 says “And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord,
are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendour and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit” (AMP). Constantly dwell in the Word and walk in the Spirit.
Prayer Points:
1. Holy Spirit, please have Your way in my life and produce Your fruit in me.
2. Help me, Holy Spirit, to always dwell in the Word of God and let it always impact my life positively.
