Text:
2 Kings 6:30-33; 7:1-2
Memory Verse:
“…Look, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, could this thing be?” (2 Kings 7:2b).
The human mind, most of the time, cannot comprehend the wisdom of God. When God gives instructions, He does not expect us to analyse and comprehend how they will work with our brain. What He wants is that we trust, believe Him and do what He says, whether we know how it will work or not.
This is where many believers miss it. We want to understand if it will work and how it will work. As a result, we fail to see the miraculous power of God manifest greatly and on a regular basis. When Elisha prophesied that in 24 hours, there would be a turn-around in the situation of Samaria resulting in surplus food at the gate of Samaria, the officer on whose arm the king was leaning did not believe it. He declared sarcastically, “Look, even if the LORD should open the floodgates of the heavens, could this happen?” and he was judged instantly (2 Kings 7:1-2). God does not operate in the realm of man. He knows what we do not know and He can do what we cannot do (2 Kings 7:15&16). All you need to do is to just trust His wise instructions, and obey Him promptly and completely.
Restrain your brain from allowing what you knew previously to get in the way. We are encouraged to open our minds and hearts to God so we can see from His perspective. Believe and act on whatever God tells you. Do not insist on
understanding before believing. Do not let your brain get in the way.
Prayer Points:
1. Give me the grace to trust You daily, O Lord.
2. I receive grace for total obedience.
