Job 2: 3-13
Memory Verse:
“In all this, Job did not sin with his lips” (Job 2:10c).
Inner strength is a wide range of strong mental and emotional resources, including behaviour, skills, and attitudes that enable stability and adaptability in both prosperity and adversity. Inner strength is a deep rooted self-consciousness in the understanding that God is always on your side.
“If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small” (Proverbs 24:10).
Though, it is erroneously believed that this virtue is needed only in the time of adversity, the truth is that this type of strength is also desirable in the time of prosperity. It is unfortunate to see several men lose their inner strength at the time of prosperity because they cannot effectively manage success (Luke 12:16-21).
Inner strength allows individuals to effectively defend themselves against physical or spiritual attack that would have knocked them down, hopeless and helpless, on the battlefield of life. It is this same strength that allows others, previously defeated, to adapt, change and bounce back to life. Real life does not depend much on physical strength, but on an inner conviction derived from the
Holy Spirit (John 16:13-14).
It is the strong will to take full advantage of pain and pleasure instead of allowing pain and pleasure to take advantage of you: an indomitable force that enables you to always stay on top of your game, positive or negative. Through the Holy Spirit, you are in absolute control of your life; without Him,
life controls you absolutely. Inner strength is the indomitable will to have your head right on your neck without minding the successful or contrary circumstances around you.
Prayer Points:
1. Father, remove vanity and lie far from me.
2. Give me the strength that comes from the Holy Spirit.
