1 Peter 2:21-25
Memory Verse:
“For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us leaving us an example that you should follow His steps” (1 Peter 2:21).
Jesus lived a perfect life to show us the way back to our Heavenly Father. JAlthough He never sinned, Jesus was still baptised in obedience to God teaching us that baptism is a requirement for everyone. He is also the perfect example of love. In His life on earth, He cared for the poor, healed the blind (John 9:1–7), welcomed little children (Matthew 19:13–14), and even forgave those who crucified Him (Luke 23:34). His love is endless and available to everyone.
Jesus taught us how to live, teach and treat others. At just 12 years of age, He was found teaching scholars in the temple. They were astonished by His wisdom and depth of spiritual knowledge. Jesus became the greatest Teacher that ever lived. He often used parables, or stories, to teach important lessons. These parables were about everyday people and situations, so they were easily
understood. Jesus suffered and died for our sins; His mission in coming to earth was to save us from our sins. He was willing to suffer and sacrifice Himself to pay the price for our mistakes so that we could repent and be forgiven. Are you also willing to suffer for Jesus?
He suffered for every person who has ever lived, bleeding from every pore of His body. He was arrested, spat on, whipped, and crucified. Even as Jesus was being killed by His own people, He cried out to God to have mercy on them, He thereby left us an example in being merciful. Do you follow Jesus’ perfect example?

1. I receive grace to be like Jesus.
2. Father, remove everything hindering my desire to be like Christ from my life today.
