Text:
John 8:4-12
Memory Verse:
“Then Jesus spoke to them saying, I am the light of the world, he who follows me shall not walk in darkness but have the light of life” (John 8:12).
The world is being ruled by the prince of this earth. Darkness has engulfed the whole world, and biblical prophecies are being fulfilled. There is gross darkness all over the world, but Jesus said we should cheer up for He has overcome the world. His light shines in darkness and darkness cannot comprehend it. We are the children of light and, though we live in the world, we are not of this
world. God may surprise us in ways that He responds to our prayers by giving us more than we need just because we are His children. We may need to be patient because He knows our names, He knows our thoughts, He sees each tear that drops from our eyes and He will surely answer our prayers.
The Almighty God is too eager for our highest good to deny us His healing truth. To pray for light and illumination is a great task but when God responds, He takes us beyond our imagination. Our God is a God of wonders and His ways are beyond human understanding or comprehension. He brought forth light out of darkness and brought something out of nothing, He’s the awesome God, the Holy Spirit must be our guiding light that shines in the darkness of this world. “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go, I will counsel you with my eye upon you” (Psalm 32:8).
Prayer Points:
1. Help me to be prepared for whatever Your light may show to me.
2. May I not shrink from asking for Your revelation, O God of light.
