Text:
Proverbs 8:1-9, 35
Memory Verse:
“For whoever finds me finds life, And obtains favour from the LORD” (Proverbs 8:35).
Me” in the memory verse is Wisdom (Proverbs 8:1-5). This Wisdom is synonymous with the Second Person of Trinity (Proverbs 8:22-31).
Now you understand why the Lord commands that you “seek first the kingdom
of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you”
(Matthew 6:33). When you have Jesus Christ, the ultimate wisdom, it means
knowing the perfect will of the infinite God for every aspect and choice of life.
You receive the ability and knowledge to make decisions to maximise the
utility of every part of your life. You receive discernment and understanding of
all angles to issues, perceive any errors and lies, and recognise righteousness
and truth. Not many who have surrendered their lives to Christ have wisdom.
Those who have, stand out favourably before God and men. The life offered by wisdom is the abundant life. This is the best life and it includes eternal life. How you treat wisdom will have great consequences in your life – good or evil. If you seek wisdom diligently, you will be blessed. If you neglect or resent it, you do so at the expense of your soul.
Everyone would claim to want abundant life, yet spend much effort, time, and
resources on vain things that do not improve life, but rather vex the spirit. Wisdom will lead you to life – a satisfying and successful life of joy, peace, hope, and contentment. It will bring the favour of God – the blessings of protection, prosperity, and personal fellowship with the Almighty. Embrace wisdom!
Prayer Points:
1. Father, forgive my ignorance in neglecting wisdom.
2. Lord, help me to embrace wisdom with all my heart.
