1 Corinthians 13:1-8, 13

Memory Verse: “So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love” (1 Corinthians 13:13).

Our Lord demonstrated love throughout his earthly physical presence and ultimately when He gave His life for mankind. The Bible tells us that God is Love. An unchanging attribute that makes Him to be God. Jesus emphasised the need for us, as His followers, to be epitomes of love. Love is an action word and God demonstrated this by giving His only begotten son as the propitiation for our sins (John 3:16). Jesus equally challenged us to love one another and He said it is a proof that we are His disciples (John 13:35).
We cannot but show love among ourselves and even to the unbelievers aroundus, whether in our families, offices, neighbourhoods and, generally, to this dying world. The truth is that our demonstration of love should not be selective, or one-sided. God is not partial towards mankind – we must, therefore, show love to everyone.
1 Corinthians 13:13 emphasises that love is greater than faith and hope. Love is what makes Christ to be revealed. God demonstrated love while revealing His only Son to come and die a shameful and painful death. Love is the nature of God that we all must exhibit, not occasionally, but always. Someone is crying for love and needs to be shown true and pure love, which the Bible calls true
religion. Receive the heart of love today and let Christ be revealed in and through you.

Prayer Points:
1. Lord, give me a heart filled with pure love.
2. Let every seed of hatred in me be uprooted today.
