Text: 1 Thessalonians 4: 13-18
Memory Verse: “Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord” (1 Thessalonians 4:17).
It is common knowledge and practice for men to plan and prepare properly before embarking on a journey either within or outside the country. Proper consideration is given to time, means of transportation and permits, where necessary. If you are driving, you ensure that your car is in good condition. If traveling by public transport, you find your way to the motor park, station or harbour, as the case may be. If flying, you have your ticket, passport and visa.
Anything short of this will deny you the success you desire. As it is in the physical life, so it is in spiritual matters; you must plan and prepare properly for your final destination after here. To make ‘the rapture’ which is the amazing transport to heaven, you must be born again and live a life of holiness. Hebrews 12:14 says “Strive to live in peace with everybody and pursue that consecration and holiness without which no one will [ever] see the Lord” (AMP).
This must also be evidenced by your obedience to God, absolute trust in Him, service in His vineyard and love for the brethren. If you don’t meet these requirements, you will miss ‘the rapture’ and hell will be your destination, not because God is not true, but because you have left undone what you needed to have done.
If your preparation is shoddy, now is the time to make amends. Examine yourself. Jesus has paid the price.
Prayer Points:
- Grant me the faith to trust and obey You Lord.
