Text:1 Samuel 18:1-7
Memory Verse:“…And Saul set him over the men of war, and he was accepted in the sight of all the people and also in the sight of Saul’s servants” (1 Samuel 18:5b).
Change is one thing that is constant in life. We all experience it at one Cpoint in time or the other in our lives, but what matters most is the type of change one experiences. A change affects you and those around you, either positively or negatively. May you experience positive changes.
David, having been anointed, was transformed from being a shepherd boy to a prominent warrior. The life of a person who has surrendered it all to Christ and is filled with the Holy Ghost is expected to radiate God’s glory. This brings about a positive change in all ramifications in such a person’s life. “He will not permit the godly to slip or fall” (Psalm 55:22b, NLT). Joseph, who ate with
prisoners and people of low estate, experienced a positive change because he held on to God amidst all his challenges (Genesis 41:14).
In the same vein, when things turn around in your favour having surrendered to Jesus, the devil is not happy. You become a threat to the devil and his demons. As they sang David’s praise, so the heavens would sing the praise of anyone that is of God and the enemy is not pleased with that, but rest assured that they will not be able to harm you, because it is God that lifted you
(Luke 10:19).
It is honourable to experience the positive change of lifting by God, but it is not automatic. To enjoy this, you need to surrender your life to Christ and live a life that is pleasing to Him.
Prayer Points:
1. Father, thank You for how far You have brought me in my walk with You.
2. I decree that I am changing for the better as I hold on to Jesus.
