Purpose Of The Wilderness 1

Text: Deuteronomy 8:1-10

Memory Verse: “And you shall remember that the Lord your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not”(Deuteronomy 8:2).

Many Christians today ask why they go through wilderness experiences. God is not unaware that you are in the wilderness of your life. After He brings you out of bondage in the world, He needs
to get the world out of you because He is leading you to a better place to do you good at the end (Deuteronomy 8:16). However, before you get there, there are places you have to pass through.
The God who delivered you in the past can be trusted to do it again. The challenges of work, academics, business, ministry and family are such that they could overwhelm, but they also have solutions. You are not alone in your predicament (Psalm 23:4). You are loaded with abilities to face challenges; so do not give up on God.
God is with you, and in you through the Holy Spirit. You are a thousand times bigger on the inside than on the outside. There is a purpose behind everything that happens, even if you do not seem to understand it yet. Nothing happens by mistake or accident (Romans 8:28). You might not know where it leads at the moment, but you will eventually do. Giving up does not glorify God; it only
makes the devil rejoice.
As you go today, be determined not to give up. There is a purpose for every wilderness experience. God will come through, just stand firm. Your promised land is just around the corner.

Prayer Points:
1. Father, strengthen me in these trying times.
2. I receive grace to move forward from now on.
