Purpose Of The Wilderness 2

Text: Deuteronomy 8:1-10

Memory Verse: “For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, that flow out of valleys and hills” (Deuteronomy 8:7).

Yesterday, a foundation was laid to show that God is aware of our challenges and that He is in these challenges with us. He should not be seen as wicked because He allows us to go through difficulties.
Rather, He is our sustainer through them. The God who leads us into the wilderness, also leads us through and out of it (Deuteronomy 8:2). When you neglect this truth, you miss it. The Spirit led Jesus into the wilderness (Luke 4:1). Paul’s missionary team also was led by the Spirit at several points of their ministry through some difficulties (Acts 16:7).
Though it is a wilderness where there seems to be depression and fruitlessness, there are assurances of His presence backed by periodic testimonies to keep you going. He did the same by keeping the Israelites from spending resources on clothes, shoes and even food during the forty years they spent in the wilderness.
God can remove all devourers for your sake. Are you worried about your home, job, health and finance? Let go of such fears because God is with you. Step out boldly because the people who mock you in your wilderness will come to serve you in your promised land. Do not be afraid; the Lord will deal with those who make war against your progress in the way He chooses. Remember,
He destroyed all the Amalekites because they stood against the children of Israel. God is your guide, defender, protector and keeper. The journey may be difficult but God is with you.

Prayer Points:
1. I will not give up.
2. Today, I enjoy the guidance and protection of God.
