Text: Exodus 3:7-13, Ephesians 1:18-21
Memory Verse: “The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling” (Ephesians 1:18).
God saw the potential in Moses and called him to go, deliver and lead the children of Israel out of bondage from Egypt, but Moses saw himself as not capable, giving various excuses – identity, ignorance, unbelief, inadequacy, and unavailability (Exodus 3:11-4:13). So did Gideon in Judges 6:13-15. Whereas God saw him as a mighty man of valour, he saw himself as a weakling.
Negative images – disappointments, bad breaks, past mistakes, etc. cloud our vision from seeing ourselves the way God sees us. We have to remove whatever is blocking our vision, so we can see ourselves the way God sees us. What image do you have of yourself, family, finances, and your future? What would happen if you started seeing yourself for who you really are, a child of the Most High God? Paul, the apostle, prayed for us that our vision, the eyes of our understanding, would be clear. We were created to reign in life, to be healthy, strong, confident, valuable, and to accomplish dreams. We have greatness in us, but sometimes we do not see our gifts and potential because
our vision is limited.
Clear out the inferiority complex, the bitterness, the mediocrity, what people have said, past guilt and shame. Nothing that happened to you should stop God’s purpose for your life. Start seeing yourself as being worthy, forgiven, and a child of God. As your vision clears, you will start moving into new levels of favour and blessings.
Prayer Points:
1. Father, help me to clear out the negative images and get the fresh, new vision in.
2. Father, let me begin to see myself the way You see me – as blessed, prosperous, healthy, strong, talented, and successful.
