Submission Brings Strength.

Text: James 4:1–7

Memory Verse:“Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee
from you” (James 4:7).

Submission is to be subject to a higher authority, to obey or to surrender. This is a personal decision which has to be made. Too much emphasis has been placed on women regarding submission (1 Peter 3:1), forgetting that all men, especially Christians, have the responsibility to submit (1 Peter 2:13,18). This means letting the word of God rule your heart and life
and bring you under the authority of God. Many people are proud, self-centred, insecure and lustful, so they are aggressive, fight and have disagreements, hoping to gain power by force. On
the contrary, James 4:7, says, “Submit to God (and His word), resist the devil (stand against, oppose, refuse, withstand) the devil and he will flee (AMP). The devil would flee not because of your academic qualification or your spoken English but because he fears the word of God and those who carry it.
The true power to resist the devil will come from our ability to submit ourselves and our lifestyle to God totally. When we give ourselves to God in service, the ability, through grace, comes to us, and we can resist the devil when he comes with his temptations. Make the Word your ruler, and be subject to God and man. Do not be rebellious, and men, the devil, and even angels, will be subject to you. This is true strength. Place value on the Word; it shows you place value on God. God’s
word in his children’s life and mouths produces results.

Prayer Points:
1. Father, I receive grace to submit to You and Your word.
2. As I submit to God, I resist you, devil, in every situation of my life.
