Text:
Numbers 11: 1-3
Memory Verse:
“… and His anger was aroused. So the fire of the Lord burned among them, and consumed some in the outskirts of the camp” (Numbers 11:1b).
When walking with the Lord, He may take us through different life experiences. When He took the children of Israel through pleasant places, they rejoiced and revealed in Him.
when He took them through the wilderness of Paran, what was their response? Complaints! That greatly
displeased the Lord. As children of God, we also have our Paran. While going through the challenges of life, we easily despair and complain, but we ought to know that troubles do not last. Job said, “Should we receive what is good from God, and not also receive what is evil?” In all this Job did not sin by what he said” (Job 2:10, NET).Trust the path He is taking you through and do not murmur.
The Israelites had the Lord leading them in the pillar of cloud and fire, directing their steps, yet they did not trust the Almighty God. Today, the same story is true among us. We have the Word of God (cloud) leading us. This Word
dictates our steps yet we do not trust God. Rather than trusting the Lord and His timing, we take matters into our own hands which ultimately leads us into trouble.
The judgement of the Lord came instantly upon the children of Israel when they complained. He is the same God and He has not changed. It is time to change our ways, so as to avert the looming disaster.
Prayer Points:
1. Lord Jesus, forgive me for complaining instead of being grateful.
2. Lord Jesus, I receive grace to pray and trust you concerning every issue.
