Text: Genesis 6:13-22
Memory Verse: “But I will establish My covenant with you; and you shall go
into the ark — you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you”
(Genesis 6:18).

The whole world had become corrupt; God was angry and regretted that He had created man and animals (Genesis 6:5-7). Sin had started multiplying from the very first sin of Eve and Adam in the Garden of Eden. So, God decided to wipe out all He had created.

God then instructed Noah to build an ark for his safety and preservation from the flood which He was determined to use in destroying the then existing world. He had found grace and favour in God’s sight, being the only righteous man on earth at the time. The Ark of Noah reveals both the judgment and mercy of God. The judgment shows the righteous judgment of God in destroying the wicked, while His mercy and care are seen in His preservation of Noah and, by extension, the human race; and the animal kingdom.

The Ark of Noah gives us a vivid illustration of Jesus Christ who was sent to preserve us from the flood of divine judgment. Christ came as a lamb to die for our sins, but He is also coming back as a Judge. Jesus appeared as Truth and Grace (John 1:17). As Truth, so we can know the truth and be set free (John 8:32) and as Grace to save us, teach us the way of God and help us escape the judgment of God (Titus 2:11-14).

Do you want to escape the judgment of God? Get on board the end time Ark, Jesus Christ, if you haven’t yet.

Prayer Points:

  1. Holy Spirit, please help me stay on board the end time Ark, Christ Jesus.
  2. I will not incur the judgment and wrath of God in Jesus’ name
