Text:
Genesis3:1&2, 6-12.
Memory Verse:
“Then the man said, ‘The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate'” (Genesis 3:12).
For a long time, I blamed my inability to speak good English on not attending a private school. The truth, however, is that I could have been better because there are some people who also did not attend private schools, yet speak good English. The blame game has been on since the time of Adam and Eve. When Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit, they did not admit their mistake; rather, they
passed the blame on to the other. This led to the fall of man and loss of relationship with God (Genesis 2:23).
Admitting our mistakes is good and frees us from the bondage of guilt. When we admit our mistakes and ask for forgiveness, we learn from our mistakes and become more of who God wants us to be. On the contrary, when we pass the blame to others, it results in stagnation and an unrepentant heart. The person to whom we transfer the blame could suffer from the unjust accusation.Passing the blame is the product of the flesh, the world, and Satan. If left unchecked, it can lead to a loss of relationship with God and can spawn guilt, mistrust, suspicion, fear, and lack of confidence.
In your relationship with God and man, you must admit your mistakes (James 5:16) and stop the blame game. Until you do this, there will be no forgiveness of sin and the resultant effect will be separation from God (1 John 1:8&9). So, learn to admit your wrongdoing and ask for forgiveness.
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, I repent of every blame game I have indulged in, please forgive me.
2. Father, give me the grace to admit my mistakes.
