Text:
1 John 4:1-6
Memory Verse:
“You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4).
When you belong to God, you become a dwelling place of His fullness. Possessing His fullness makes you an unstoppable overcomer, “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world”
(1 John 5:4a). Thus, being a child of God positions you to overcome the following:
1. Sin – Whoever is born of God does not commit sin because God’s seed remains in him (1 John 3:9).
2. Sickness – You have been given the power to cast out devils, speak in new tongues, take up serpents and drink deadly things without being hurt, and when you lay hands on the sick they will recover.
3. Worry – You are freed from worry because neither tribulation nor distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril or sword shall separate you from the love of Christ. No, in all these things you are more than a conqueror through Himthat loved you (Romans 8:35-37).
4. Satan– You have also been given power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the powers of the enemy without being hurt by anything and anyone.
5. Second Death – Because you hear the word and believe in the Father, who sent His Son, Jesus, you have everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation, but have passed from death into life.
Your sonship in God will determine your triumphs over the battles of life. So, strive to obey your Father (God) and walk closely with Him in holy living, studying of the word, and in prayers.
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, I appreciate the death and finished work of Christ on the cross of Calvary for me.
2. Father, please qualify me to possess your fullness to overcome sin, sickness, worry, Satan and the second death.
