Text:
Ephesians: 2:3-12
Memory Verse:
“That at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the Commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in this world” (Ephesians: 2:12).
The Israelites are the people chosen by God. They are a people after God’s own heart and He always fights their battles. Though they are a stubborn generation, God still holds them dear to His heart. They have found favour before Him and He fights their battles from time to time.
To be a modern-day Israelite, you have to acknowledge the death and the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ in your life, walk in His ways and proclaim Him as Lord and Saviour. To be the apple of God’s eyes like the Israelites, you have to proclaim the Lord Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour. In the land of Egypt, God fought for the Israelites, He dealt with king Pharaoh and the Egyptians for their sakes and drowned their enemies in the Red Sea.
Will you not join the Commonwealth of Israel that the Lord might fight your battles? You will hold your peace, and experience the victory that the Israelites enjoyed when the armies of Pharaoh perished in the Red Sea. Identify with the children of God that you might enjoy the blessings which God bestows on the Commonwealth of Israel on a daily basis.
As the apple of God’s eyes, “Keep me as the apple of Your eyes; hide me under the shadow of Your wings” (Psalm 17:8), some of the things you enjoy are blessings, promotion, deliverance from the power of darkness, protection,
provision, long life and above all – eternity. Jesus is calling on you to join the Commonwealth of Israel. There is hope for you.
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, make me one of Your own.
2. I will not be an alien to You, Lord
