Psalm 27:1-5

Memory Verse:
“For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle, He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock” (Psalm 27:5).

Jesus said in John 8:12 “I am the light of the world, he who follows me shall not walk in darkness but have the light of life.” This scripture is very clear on what darkness is; the absence of Jesus. Anything we do without giving honour to God amounts to the work of darkness.

It is the light of Christ that brings salvation; the psalmist knew this and cleaved to it. Knowing Jesus Christ as your light and salvation will bring an end to the unnecessary fear of the wicked and will strengthen your heart to walk with
Him who is able to deliver you from all the forces of darkness and guide your footsteps while journeying through life.
The Psalmist says “My heart shall not fear though war may rise against me.” If the devil wants to attack anyone, He first creates a situation whereby that person will be afraid. For a steadfast believer, the issue of fear has been taken
care of because he has Christ as the Light and Saviour of his life.
As the Psalmist desired to dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of his life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, it is equally good for us to desire to work with the Lord all the days of our life so that we may know Him and the power of His resurrection (Philippians 3:10).

Prayer Points:
1. Father, please let me truly know You as my light and salvation.
2. O Lord, may the works of my hands continue to show forthYour light.
