Psalm 3:1-8

Memory Verse:
“Salvation belongs to the Lord. Your blessing is upon Your people. Selah” (Psalm 3:8).

This is a psalm of David when he fled from his son, Absalom. It was a Tvery troubling time for him (2 Samuel 15:13-20). That passage actually summarises the heartbreak of a father and the humiliation arising from a coup against him sponsored by his own son. When Absalom usurped
the throne, David passed through one of the darkest and troubling periods of his life and could only have looked to God for help; a situation aptly represented in Micah 7:6-8.
According to Psalm 3:3, David surrendered his problem to the One who could solve them. He remembered that God was a shield to protect him, a glory to adorn him and a head-lifter to encourage him. In Micah 7:7 he said, “Therefore I will look to the Lord, I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear
me.”
God gives peace in the midst of trouble and distress, and fearlessness in the  midst of opposition, light in darkness etc. He will put an end to every trouble you may be going through in life. Truly, without God, there is no victory. With God, every foe can be vanquished and one can have rest in the face of trouble. Remember, your God is the problem solver who neither sleeps nor slumbers.
He has promised to be with you in trouble and said that He has overcome on your behalf. Standing your ground, irrespective of troubles, is easy when you are grounded in God and put your trust in Him.

Prayer Points:
1. Lord, thank You for Your promise to be with me in times of trouble.
2. Lord, help me to remain grounded in You.
