Text:
Luke1:34-38.
Memory Verse:
“For with God nothing will be impossible” (Luke 1:37).
The popular phrase on the lips of many today, especially when things are not going well for them, is “I am trusting God.” This is common among both Christians and non-Christians. We will address the misuse of the phrase as we examine the depth of our dependence on God when we
make such a claim. To trust God is to believe in His reliability, His Word, His ability and His
strength. It is quite disturbing when you hear people use the phrase without truly trusting God. The Bible tells us to trust in the Lord with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5). Most people erroneously believe that when they say, ‘I am trusting God’, even when they do not have any relationship with Him, automatically they are entitled to a problem-free life. We must fully depend on God and His ability to deliver us even in the face of challenges to benefit from any such confession. Psalm 118:8 says, “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.” For you to truly trust God, your relationship with Him must be very cordial.
You must, in the first instance, experience Him and His awesome power because you cannot trust someone you do not know. Your level of trust in God will be based on your experience with Him. Trust God because He is faithful. Learn to trust in Him sincerely, not with lip service, and the faithful God will show Himself to you (Psalm 18:30).
Prayer Points:
1. Father, teach me to sincerely trust You.
2. Father, bring all Your promises to pass in my life
