Text: Psalm 34:1-3, 2 Chronicles 20:20-24
Memory Verse: “Oh, magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt His name together” (Psalm 34:3).
When you have prayed constantly about an issue and it seems to defy prayers, turnover to praise. This was exactly what Jehoshaphat and the inhabitants of Judah and Jerusalem did and the Lord made their enemies destroy themselves. Paul and Silas were imprisoned, but rather than allowing that to bring discouragement and
depression, they turned to praise and their chains broke; the prison door swung open to them on its own (Acts 16:25-28).
When you are up against challenges that seem too big or dreams that look impossible, there is every tendency to be tempted to worry, live stressed and complain. In moments like that, you have to be careful of the kind of
atmosphere you create. If you go around complaining about how a problem is not going to work out, that negative atmosphere will draw in discouragement and will stop your victory. When you face difficulties, the best thing to do is give God praise (Psalm 150:1-6). A situation may be too much for you, but not for God. Do not magnify your problems, magnify your God. Say, “Lord, You are the all powerful Creator of the universe. You are the great I AM. You are my provider, my healer, my protector, my deliverer, my way maker.” Praise like that, causes God to show up; not begging Him, not complaining or worrying (Isaiah 25:1). Whatever situation you are battling with, turnover to praise, for that is what attracts the most powerful force in the universe!
Prayer Points:
1. Father, thank You for the privilege of praise and for inhabiting the praises of Your people.
2. Spend quality time praising God over your situations. Magnify and exalt the Most High God and He will make a way for you.
