Text: 2 Chronicles 16:1-9
Memory Verse: “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole
earth” (2 Chronicles 16:9a).
An interpersonal relationship is a strong, deep or close association or acquaintance between two or more people. Such a relationship varies from family, friendship, and marriage relations to associates, work, club, neighbourhood, place of worship etc. Generally, relationships are to add
value to lives. A good relationship is more than something we want. It is something we need
to be our happiest, healthiest and most productive selves. Relationships can be one of the best supports in one’s life, like the case of David and Jonathan (2 Samuel 1:26). Good relationships improve all aspects of one’s life. As good as they are, the believer must be cautious and discerning about what kind of relationship they enter into. God disallows yoking with unbelievers in
business, marriage, socially etc (2 Corinthians 6:14&15).
The relationship between Asa, king of Judah, and Ben-hadad, king of Syria, was an unholy relationship (1 Kings 15:18&19). Asa was a godly king while Ben-hadad was an ungodly king. To extract a treaty for protection, Asa gave things dedicated to God to Ben-hadad to maintain or sustain a league between them. God was not happy with the relationship and there were dire
consequences. Despite what you are going through presently, do not allow your challenges
drive you away from God, who can do more than what man may call help. Do not behave foolishly like Asa. If you are engaged in an ungodly relationship, break it up now and regularise your relationship with God. Stick to God in all situations. He will not fail you.
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, help me to surround myself with the right people.
2. Lord, help me focus on my relationship with You.
