Exodus 15:22-27

Memory verse:
“and said, ‘If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you’” (Exodus 15:26).

There are many voices speaking in our world and they all have meaning. Many people listen to the wrong voices. The importance of voices is to direct, re-direct, counsel and make us do what we are supposed to do. Some voices speak from within while others speak without. It may be in real
life or in a dream, it could be through music, a play you are watching or even through lectures. The voice you listen to will determine your destiny. Samuel listened to the voice of God and this determined how his life went: “’Speak, LORD, for Your servant hears.’ So Samuel went and lay down in his place. Now the LORD came and stood and called as at other times, ‘Samuel! Samuel!’ And Samuel answered, ‘Speak, for Your servant hears’” (1 Samuel 3: 9b-10). Moses also listened to the voice of God. Samson listened to the wrong voice of Delilah and this led to his destruction (Judges 16:15-22).
Voices can bring peace or destruction. Where you are now is as a result of your obedience to the voices you listened to. The voice you listen to and obey is achoice you make. You must, therefore, learn to discern the right voice to obey. The ability to recognise God’s voice is the master key to success. It is important to listen to and obey His voice. His voice is a shepherd’s voice and has the ability to lead you correctly. Will you choose to listen to and obey the voice of the Lord today?

Prayer Points:
1. Lord, please help to always discern and obey Your voice.
2. I come against any power that will not let me hear and obey the voice of God.
