Text:
Ephesians 2: 1-10
Memory Verse:
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10).
The beginning of life is usually a time of innocence but with time each person starts learning, first about the self, environment, relationships i.e. who the people around are and perhaps what they believe and stand for. This discovery provides an initial pathway for life. Most people simply fall in line with these initial discoveries and walk in them. Ephesians 2:10 however, explains that God had a plan for each man beforehand that we should walk in them. Jesus is a good example of a child who naturally followed the profession of His carpenter father until He recognised God’s call upon His life. By age 12, and having come to this realisation, He changed course and
began to work on the mission which God had prepared for Him beforehand (Luke2: 39-52).
Have you discovered your life’s calling? Ephesians 2:1-3 says that for most of us, we unknowingly follow the path of disobedience contrary to God’s will and plan. We have been conducting ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were, by nature, children of wrath, just as others are. God, however, by His Spirit has continued to draw us to Himself and the knowledge of His provision of salvation in Christ.
Have you come to this realization? Do you understand God’s plan of salvation in Christ? Have you discovered God’s plan for your life and are you walking in it? God’s plan for your life is available in His word – take time to search for it.
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, I have gone my way for too long. Please let me know Your plan.
2. I receive grace to walk in Your plan for me, dear Lord.
