Text:
Psalm 11:1-7
Memory Verse:
“If the foundations are destroyed, What can the righteous do” (Psalm 11:3).
The Foundation is the basis or ground work of anything. It is the prepared base on the ground on which a structure rests. It is the moral base of both religion and society. Any structure built on a faulty foundation will collapse eventually. The foundation of any society, organisation or nation are the values, people, ethics and culture on which it is built. A nation whose foundation is destroyed will operate in wickedness, violence, bad leadership, idolatry and occultism etc. In such a nation, what is wrong, e.g., homosexualism, drug abuse, alcoholism etc., becomes accepted as good.
There will be no fear of God; men will turn away from God and it will become a time of great compromise (2Timothy 3:1-5; 1Timothy 4:1-11). When this happens, what should the righteous do? You should not give up, or withdraw yourself from faith. You should seek to repair the destroyed and faulty foundation by preaching the truth. You must be determined to make a difference even amongst vast irregularities. You must not compromise, but be determined to obey God and please Him.
The righteous should return to God through prayer and holy living (2 Corinthians 6:14-18). You are the light of the world and the salt of the earth. Light shines better in darkness and salt makes all the difference in food. God is looking for lights that will lighten the world and bring His kingdom down to earth. For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God”(Romans 8:19).
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, help me to be an instrument of restoration and rebuilding of the foundation.
2. God, let the broken foundation of our life, society and the nation be repaired and restored.
