1 John 1:1-3
Memory Verse:
“So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart” (Acts 2:46).
Someone said that fellowship refers to different fellows journeying
together in the same ship. This suggests that fellowship has to do with Srelationships, bearing one another’s burden, sharing together and relating together in love as one family with the hope of continuing the same in heaven. This is why no Christian is expected to be a lone ranger (Ecclesiastes 4:9-
10). You have to belong to the fellowship of the children of God, so as to impact others and be impacted.
Every Christian is expected to belong to a Christian fellowship because iron
sharpens iron. Refusing to belong to a fellowship is an indication that such a
Christian is not growing and does not know the value of a Christian fellowship
(Psalm 133:1). It could also be as a result of their sinful lifestyle. Sin cannot be
tolerated in the fellowship of the children of God (Revelation 21:8).
Apostle Paul frowned at Demas’ separation from fellowship with him because
of the love of this present world. Today many are like Demas, keeping away
from fellowship because of their love for the things of this world.
Christian fellowship is ordained by God for the purpose of spiritual growth,
admonition, encouragement, and service to the body of Christ. Therefore, as a
child of God, you must belong to the fellowship and be actively involved in the
activities of the fellowship for the good of every member. Reject all the
enticements of this present world and identify with the children of God today.
Prayer Points:
1. Father, help me to love and be an active member of Christian fellowship.
2. Father, deal with every root of sin in my life.
