Text: John 4:10-14
Memory Verse: “Jesus answered and said to her, ‘Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life” (John 4:13&14).
The life of the Samaritan woman at the well mirrors the lives of many people today; a life marked by emptiness, longing, and deep thirst. She was thirsty for love, acceptance, and security, and this drove her into five failed relationships. Despite moving from one man to another, her thirst remained unquenched. No relationship could fill the void in her soul.
Likewise, many today are desperately searching for fulfillment in the wrong places. The emptiness within has led people to turn to drugs, alcohol, sex, pornography, serial relationships, money, cultism, fame and other pursuits. These are all broken cisterns, waters that can never satisfy. In trying to escape the void, people often dig deeper into these habits, hoping that more will finally be enough. But instead of satisfaction, they find themselves drowning in more pain, confusion, and loneliness.
True satisfaction comes from only one source, Jesus Christ. He alone is the Living Water that quenches every thirst and fills every emptiness. When the Samaritan woman encountered Jesus, her life was transformed. She drank from a well that never runs dry and found the fulfillment she had been searching for.
You can have the same experience by coming to Jesus today. Accept Him into your heart. Make Him your focus. Spend time in His presence through prayer and in His Word daily. Let Him fill every void and heal every wound. In Him, you will find peace, purpose, and lasting satisfaction.
Prayer Points:
1. Father, please fill the emptiness in my life.
2. Father, deliver as many as are seeking fulfillment in things other than You and turn their hearts to Yourself
