Text: Psalm 73: 12-17; Mark 10:28-31
Memory Verse: “When I thought how to understand this, It was too painful for me—Until I went into the sanctuary of God; Then I understood their end” (Psalm 73:16&17).
Have you ever found yourself puzzled by the contradictions we often Hwitness in life? The wicked and morally corrupt seem to flourish, while many of God’s faithful children struggle to make ends meet.
Do you sometimes wonder if financial freedom will only come in eternity? If so, you are not alone. Even Peter, who walked closely with Jesus, once asked a question that can be paraphrased as, “What is in it for us after all this sacrifice?” Jesus responded with assurance: whatever has been lost for His sake will ben repaid a hundredfold in this life and, beyond that, eternal life. This reveals a comforting truth: God is not unaware of your sacrifices or struggles. Yet, His promises often require your patience and perseverance. Sadly, many give up before their breakthrough comes. That was why Jesus said, “Many that are first shall be last, and the last first”(Mark 10:31).
The key takeaway is this: God has good plans for each of His children. No matter how hard things may seem right now, your circumstances should not weaken your relationship with Him. Do not be discouraged by the temporary prosperity of unbelievers. The Psalmist in Psalm 73 wrestled with the same question until he entered God’s presence and saw the true end of the wicked. Remember your present situation does not define your future. What matters most is your end and that matters deeply to God. Stay steadfast in your faith, knowing that He is faithful to reward you in due time.
