Text: John 8:31-38
Memory Verse: “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32).
John 8:32 is one of the most profound verses in the Bible and the key to experiencing true freedom: “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” A life free from fear, guilt, sin, want, affliction and oppression is the most beautiful life one can ever desire. As you fellowship with God, you will enjoy true freedom.
At the core of real freedom is not just truth but the knowledge of the truth. Many are not necessarily bound by the devil, but by ignorance, which the devil skillfully exploits. You fear mostly things that you do not understand. Once the knowledge of the truth is revealed, fear loses its grip and liberty follows.
The truth is not merely a concept, idea, or philosophy, He is a Person. Jesus Christ is the Truth. It is the knowledge of this Person that truly sets a soul free. Philosophies and morality cannot grant true freedom; only Jesus can. He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life…” (John 14:6). You cannot speak of truth while rejecting Him.
Are you searching for truth that liberates you from bondage and sin? Look to Jesus Christ. He is the Truth you cannot ignore. If you reject Him today, you will meet Him someday as King and Judge. Embrace Him now. True freedom
begins with Jesus. Then read the Bible, for it reveals God to you.
