Call Upon Him In Time Of Trouble

Text: Psalm 142:1-7
Memory Verse: “I cried out to You, O Lord: I said, ‘You are my refuge, My portion in the land of the living.’” (Psalm 42:5).

There are times in a person’s life when all human strength fails, when you are pushed to the wall, out of options, and it seems like the only possible way out is divine intervention. David found himself in such a situation. He was trapped in a cave with his men while Saul and his army hunted him down. There was no way out; his wisdom, skills, and military experience could not save him. In that moment of helplessness, David did what every believer should do; he cried out to God for mercy.

God responded. He orchestrated a divine interruption that caused Saul and his men to abandon the search, giving David a miraculous escape. Are you facing a season like this, surrounded by difficulty, trapped by circumstances, and unsure of what to do next? Know this; your case is not hopeless. Help is near. Call upon God, for He has promised never to leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).

Many people, in desperation, seek ungodly shortcuts: consulting diviners, compromising their values, or making reckless decisions that lead to deeper trouble and spiritual destruction. Do not let that be your story. The time of pressure is the time to press into God, even more.

Remember, however, that God does not delight in the prayers of the unrepentant. It is better that before you cry out for help, you ask yourself: have I been washed in the blood of Jesus? Surrender fully to Him and He will hear and deliver you.

Prayer Points:
1. Lord, intervene in every tough situation in my life.
2. Father, let Your mercy prevail in my life.
