Do Not Give Up Your Inheritance

Text: 1 King 21:1-8
Memory Verse: “But Naboth said to Ahab, The LORD forbid that I should give the inheritance of my fathers to you’” (1 Kings 21:3).

Naboth inherited a vineyard from his forefathers, a sacred possession Npassed down through generations. When King Ahab desired to take it from him, Naboth boldly refused. His words were firm and clear, “The Lord forbid that I should give you the inheritance of my ancestors” (1 Kings 21:3). This response shocked the king. Ahab returned home angry, sullen, and depressed, unable to eat. He had never imagined that someone would dare to reject his royal request.

But Naboth stood his ground because God’s law ereplicithy forbade the permanent sales of ancestral land. Unfortunately, this led to a wicked conspiracy spearheaded by Queen Jezebel, which ended in Naboth’s unjust death. However, God did not remain silent. He pronounced judgement on Ahab and his household for their evil actions. Naboth’s blood cried out, and God responded (1 Kings 21:21).

This story raises a vital question: What inheritance has the enemy tried to steal from you? Is there something precious, your peace, joy, health, calling, or even a generational blessing that is under attack or has been taken away? Is someone contending with you over what rightfully belongs to you?

Be encouraged today. God sees it all. He is a righteous Judge and Defender. No matter how long you have waited, today marks the beginning of your restoration (Joel 2:25). God will fight for you, and your rightful inheritance shall be returned. What He has given you, no one can take away. Stand in faith, and let God restore what is yours.

Prayer Points:
1. O Lord, restore every inheritance of mine that the enemy has taken.
2. I refuse to yield my inheritance to the enemy
