Text: Isaiah 37:14-20
Memory Verse: “O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, the One who dwells between the cherubim, You are God, You alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth” (Isaiah 37:16).

The Assyrian king had an intimidating resume; city after city conquered, gods burned with fire, and nations subdued. But King Hezekiah of Judah rightly acknowledged this with a bold caveat: “They were no gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone” (Isaiah 37:19). What a profound truth! What is the value of a god that cannot defend or deliver itself?

Faced with terrifying odds and a defiant letter from the Assyrian king, Hezekiah did not panic or strategise politically. Instead, he “went up to the house of the Lord, and spread it before the Lord” (Isaiah 37:14). His prayer was not selfish. It was centered on God’s glory: “That all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You are the Lord, You alone” (Isaiah 37:20). What followed was divine intervention; God sent just one angel, and by morning, 185,000 Assyrian soldiers lay dead (Isaiah 37:36). One God. One Angel. One night. Child of God, the God who answered Hezekiah is still on the throne; unchanging, all-powerful, and ever-faithful. The real question is: Is He your God? When life’s battles rage, do you panic and seek human help first, or do you, like Hezekiah, take it to the Lord in prayer? Challenges will come, but your response will define the outcome.

Learn from Hezekiah: seek God first – not last, not second – first and only. Try Him and see what He alone can do.

Prayer Points:
1. Lord, I pray against every faith destroyer – fear etc.
2. Father, do a miraculous thing in my life that the world will know that I serve You, the only true living
