Text: 2 Kings 5:1-5, 10-14
Memory Verse: “So he went down and dipped seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean” (2Kings 5:14).
Imagine what would have happened if Naaman had refused to obey Elisha’s instruction to dip seven times in the Jordan River. He would have missed his healing and remained a leper, despite being so close to his miracle. What God expects from us is absolute faith in Him and complete obedience to His word. “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1). Obedience, on the other hand, is acting on God’s instruction without questioning.
Lack of faith and disobedience are two powerful weapons the devil uses to hinder many believers from receiving their blessings. In Matthew 17:20, Jesus made it clear that you only need faith as small as a mustard seed to move mountains. It is not about the size of your faith, but your willingness to trust and obey.
A hymn writer wrote, “It’s ours to obey, it’s His to perform.” No matter your prayer requests or challenges, God is fully aware. But to experience His intervention, you must obey His word and trust His process. How can you grow in faith and obedience? Accept Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour. Acknowledge disobedience and unbelief as sins to be resisted.
Build intimacy with God through consistent study of His Word. Be fervent in the place of prayer. When faith and obedience walk hand-in hand, divine intervention is inevitable. Have faith in God, trust and obey, for there’s no other way.
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, strengthen my faith in You and help me to obey You always.
2. God, help me to be more attentive to Your instructions.
