Text: Daniel 6:15-26
Memory Verse: “Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lion” (Hebrews 11:33).

Understanding the meaning of risk is essential for us to be inspired to emulate the lives of people who acted courageously through faith in the Bible. Risk is “the possibility that something bad or unpleasant (such as an injury or a loss) will happen as a result of a  decision” (MerriamWebster Dictionary).

Throughout Scripture, we find people who took bold steps of faith, fully aware of the potential danger, yet undeterred by the consequences. They stood firm and trusted God, achieving great victories that brought glory to His name. God also backed them up.

Daniel was aware of the decree that no one should pray to any god, except the king for 30 days. Yet, he remained faithful to God and prayed openly. Though the appointed consequence was death in the lions’ den, Daniel chose obedience over safety. His faith resulted in divine deliverance. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were three young men who refused to bow to King Nebuchadnezzar’s golden image, fully aware that disobedience meant being thrown into a fiery furnace. Their response was resolute, “Our God whom we
serve is able to deliver us… but if not, be it known… we will not serve thy gods.” (Daniel 3:8–18).They believed God’s promise in Isaiah 43:2, and He showed up for them.

Faith often involves risk, but with God, that risk becomes a platform for His glory. Dare to take godly risks through faith and watch God move mightily on your behalf. He is faithful.

Prayer Points:
1. Lord, please grant me the grace to stand firm in faith in times of trials and
temptations.
2. May Your presence be with me through trying times and may my faith come
out stronger
