Text: 2 Corinthians 12:7–10
Memory Verse: “My grace is sufficient for you: for my strength is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12: 9).
We do not often like to talk about weakness. Whether it is emotional, physical, or spiritual, most of us would rather hide it or pretend it does not exist. But the Scripture shows us something surprising: God’s power does not shine, despite our weaknesses; it shines through them.
Paul speaks honestly about a personal struggle he calls a “thorn in the flesh.” We do not know exactly what it was, but we know that it made him feel desperate enough to beg God three times to take it away. But instead of removing it, God responded with a powerful truth,“My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9) Paul learned that God’s grace was all he needed.
We all have thorns. They may look like insecurities, health issues, constant battles with sin, or moments where you feel inadequate, but that is exactly where God steps in. He is not asking you to be perfect or to be strong. He is asking you to trust Him with the parts of you that feel most fragile. Your weakness is not a disqualification, but the very place His power can rest. Jesus Christ was sinless, yet He bore our sins so we can be victorious and have power to trample on the enemy.
So, do not run from your weakness or try to cover it up. Bring it to God. Let Him meet you there. His grace is still enough, and His strength is real.
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, help me stop hiding my weakness and instead surrender it to You.
2. Father, teach me to rely on Your strength more than my own effort.
